Arrive
in New Delhi, transfer by plane to Leh and installation in hotel.

Walk
in Leh and its surroundings. Overnight in Leh. |

By
road from Leh to Kargil (by car, jeep or bus). Overnight
in hotel.

By
road from Kargil to Padum by car, overnight in a hotel.
|

From
Padum, to Karsha, (a 2 hour hike). This short stage permits
a visit to the monastery of Karsha, one of the more important of
the Zanskar region. |

From
Karch to Pishu (a 5 hours hike). This stage crosses the village
of Rinam (3559m), and follows the Zanskar river up to Pishu (3470m). |

From
Pishu to Hanumil (a 4 hour hike). Another relatively easy
stage, following the river Zanskar. The trek passes by the
village of Pidmu (3420m) ending at Hanumil (3380m) where there is
a small hotel for those who do not wish to spend the night in a
tent. |

From
Hanumil to Snertse (a 5 hour hike). This stage will be difficult
for the horses which will have to be left at the village of Purfi
La (3950m). The route follows a branch of the Zanzkar river
before arriving at the hamlet of Snertse. |

From Snertse to Hanuma La and Linghset (a 6 hour hike). The
summit of Hanuma La (4950m) is marked by the presence of two big
chortens covered in prayer banners. The destination of this
stage, the monastery of Linghest, normally accommodates about twenty
or so monks. |

From
Linghset to the base of Singge La (a 6 hour hike). The route
climbs gradually up to Netuke La (4280m) before crossing the urban
area of Skyumpata. The ascent of Kyupaa La (4300m) is exhausting.
The destination of this stage is the camp at the base of the Singge
La (4550m). |

From
Singge La to Photaksar (a 5 hour hike). The Singge La, literally
the Lions Pass, offers an unrestricted view. However, the
pass can be snow covered. The end of this stage is the village
of Photaskar (4200m). |

From
Photaksar to Sisir La and Honupatta (a 6 hour hike). The trek
passes the Sisir La (4850m), the pass offers a magnificent view
of the Singge La and crosses the Spong valley. The end of
this stage, Honupatta, offers various hostel rooms. |

From Honupatta to Wanalah (a 5 hour hike). The route offers
a passage along the Photang river, arriving at the Wanla monastery,
where hostel rooms are available. |

From
Wanlah to Lamayuru (a 3 to 4 hour hike). The trek follows
the Shilakong valley, passes Printiki and arrives at the extraordinary
monastery of Lamayuru (3420m). |

From
Lemayuru to Leh by jeep. Overnight in the hotel. |

|
Transfer
from Leh to New Delhi and for your return connection. |
