Trek 1: Dharamsala et environs

Dharamsala
Departure Point: Mcleod Ganj
Days Ideal season: all year.
1 Arrive in New Delhi, then by bus to Dharamsala.
2 Day visit to Mcleod Ganj and Dharamsala.
3 Visit the temple Tsuglag Khang, situated opposite the residence of the Dalai Lama.  Meditation.
4 Choice of a hike, lecture or meditation.
5 Down to the Kashag, site of the Tibetan Government in Exile.  Visit the monastery of Nechung, the Tibetan Library and the Tibetan Medical and Astro Institute
6 Visit to the monastery and Institute of Norbulingka in the valley of Kangra.  At one time the monastery and school were appointed to conserve Tibetan art, thankas, mandalas, painting and writing.  It is partly financed by Europeans and Americans.
7 Choice of a hike, lecture or meditation.
8 Trekking to the Triund (2830m). Possibility to overnight here.  Return through the forests of Dhauladar.
9 Choice of a hike, lecture or meditation.
10 Visit the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA).
11 Choice of a hike, lecture or meditation.
12 Hike in the valley of Churan Khad, up to the Hindu temple of Bagsu Nag, then to the Bagsu Falls.
13 Visit the Tibetan Children’s village, this residency has been allocated to Tibetan children and is sponsored by foreign grants.
14 Return to New Delhi by bus and transfer to the airport for your return home.
